I was delighted with my choice to stay at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid, which offered a great blend of luxury and convenience. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful, really making my stay enjoyable. However, I did have to wait a bit for breakfast seating, and the buffet could use some improvement to match the high standards expected from a five-star hotel.

While I enjoyed the quality of dining available, especially at the Goizeko Wellington restaurant, the breakfast experience was a bit hectic and the offerings could be improved for a five-star hotel.

The facilities were impressive, with a wonderful gym and inviting spa services, though I was disappointed to find that the pool was under maintenance during my stay.

7.4/10

I had a pleasant stay at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid, with its beautiful exterior and friendly staff being standout features. The spacious rooms were comfortable, and the location in the Salamanca district was ideal for exploring. However, I encountered issues like stale cigarette odors in the rooms and inconsistent air conditioning, which detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were spacious, but I noticed a strong smell of stale cigarettes in all three rooms our group occupied. This was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
Service

Breakfast was decent but not very exciting, and I felt it didn't live up to the expectations of a five-star hotel. While the bar area had a lovely atmosphere, the quality of food could be improved.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had great facilities such as a well-equipped gym and a charming bar area. However, the pool area could use some upgrades and the upkeep around it wasn't as inviting as I'd hoped.

I had a lovely stay at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid, enjoying its prime location close to many attractions. The breakfast was really good, truly a highlight of my mornings. However, there were a few downsides; the ongoing room refurbishments made it a bit noisy, and the service varied significantly among staff members. In general, it was a good experience, but not without its quirks.

Rooms
7.0
The room I stayed in was spacious and beautifully furnished, but some areas of the hotel felt a bit outdated and could use a refresh. Unfortunately, the lack of a bathtub in the room was a letdown for me, especially for a 5-star hotel.
Service
6.0
Staff were attentive overall, but my experience was mixed. While some were incredibly welcoming, I did encounter a few who were less friendly. A nice touch, though, was when they lent us an umbrella during a rainy day.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is undoubtedly one of its greatest assets. It's situated in the upscale Salamanca neighborhood, making it easy to walk to Retiro Park and other attractions. I appreciated being so close to great restaurants and local shops.
Dining

Breakfast was amazing, featuring a large selection of quality items. I also enjoyed dining in the lobby bar, where both the food and cocktails were excellent, contributing to a good evening atmosphere.
Facilities

The hotel features a lovely pool area and spa, giving me a chance to relax after days of exploring. However, I did notice that the pool felt crowded at times, which detracted from the relaxing environment I hoped for.

My stay at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid was overall fantastic, highlighted by the luxurious and spacious junior suite and the extraordinary service from the staff. The breakfast buffet was a lavish treat, although the room service left much to be desired, which was disappointing. The location was perfect, with easy access to parks and authentic dining options nearby.

Rooms
9.0
The junior suite was spacious, with a cozy atmosphere, featuring a comfortable king bed and good large pillows. However, it lacked a bathtub and bidet, which I usually consider essential for a 5-star experience.
Service
10.0
I found the staff to be exceedingly professional and attentive, striking the right balance between being friendly and efficient. They were incredibly responsive to my needs, especially during breakfast when they offered made-to-order eggs without me even requesting them.
Location
10.0
Situated in the elegant Salamanca neighborhood, the hotel was conveniently positioned within walking distance of beautiful Retiro Park and a multitude of quality restaurants and cafes, making navigation around Madrid quite effortless.
Dining
8.0
The breakfast was amazing, featuring an extensive array of delicious dishes, including fresh fruits and even champagne. However, I was let down by the room service; the food was not only expensive but also not up to par, with my cheeseburger being cold and bland.
Facilities

While I missed using the pool due to its seasonal closure, I appreciated the impressive gym facilities and the elegant ambiance throughout the hotel. The Wellington Club provided excellent snacks and beverages during the day, enhancing my overall experience.

5.4/10

My stay at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid had its highs and lows. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Salamanca with easy access to cafes and parks. The room was spacious and comfy, though it felt a bit dated and could use some renovations. While the staff was mostly helpful, I wished for a touch more warmth and friendliness from them.

Rooms
6.0
The room was large with excellent bedding and a spacious bathroom, but it had an older decor and could really benefit from some updates.
Service
7.0
While the staff were attentive and handled requests well, I encountered a bit of a hiccup at checkout regarding charges, which could've been resolved with a friendlier approach.
Location
10.0
You can’t beat the location! It’s a short walk to Retiro Park and near great dining spots and museums, keeping me perfectly situated for exploring the city.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast left a great impression with its variety and quality, but I didn’t try any gourmet dining options during my stay.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities were decent, but I missed having a gym available early in the morning, which would’ve been a nice perk.
